Single-pole Phase Test
To carry out single-pole phase tests, always touch the
contact electrode (5).
The single-pole phase test starts at an AC voltage of
approx.100V (pole > 100V AC).
When using single-pole phase tests to determine exter-
nal conductors the display function may be impaired
under certain conditions (e.g. for insulating body pro-
tective equipment or in insulating locations).
Open Polaris 3 plus Voltage Tester as described on page
26.
Connect instrument test probe to UUT.
An acoustic signal indicates the phase.
0 V AC appears on the display as well as the symbol for
left rotary field (10).

Voltage Test with RCD Trip Test
During voltage tests in systems equipped with RCD circuit-
breakers, and RCD switch can be tripped at a nominal residu-
al current of 10mA or 30mA.
Additionally, the voltage between L and PE is checked.
The RCD switch trips.
