Operator’s Safety
UNITEST Polaris 3 plus instrument has been constructed and
verified in compliance with the safety instructions for electro-
nic Test and Measurement Instruments EN 61010 and IEC
61010 and has left the factory in safe and perfect condition.
The user must observe the safety references contained in this
instruction manual to maintain this condition.
To avoid electrical shock the safety measures have to be
met when working with voltages exceeding 120 V (60 V)
DC or 50 V (25 V)rms AC. According to DIN VDE, these
values represent the threshold contact voltages (values
in brackets are valid for agricultural application areas).
Prior to measurement ensure that the test leads and the
test instrument are in perfect condition.
When using this instrument only the handles of the pro-
bes may be touched – do not touch the probe tips.
The test instrument may only be used this instrument
may only be used within the ranges specified (see 6.0
Technical Data) and within low voltage systems up to
700 V.
Prior to usage ensure perfect instrument function (e.g.
on known voltage source).
The voltage testers may no longer be used if one or se-
veral functions fail or if no functionality is indicated.
Do not use this instrument under damp conditions.
