ExtDiagFlag
The flag indicates whether slave diagnosis is active. It can be read via the System Manager or the PLC
through ADS (
see ADS interface [ } 54] ).
Note
Grayed out System Manager functions
In contrast to other PROFIBUS masters from Beckhoff, not all PROFIBUS features are sup-
ported. Therefore, some options are grayed out in the System Manager or are not dis-
played. See Technical data CX8030 PROFIBUS.

6.3.3.2 CX8031
6.3.3.2.1 PROFIBUS Interface
PROFIBUS communication takes place via the D-sub port X101.
Note
No ADS via PROFIBUS
The CX8031 does not support the ADS via PROFIBUS. The program download and debug-
ging can take place exclusively via the Ethernet interface.
PROFIBUS address
The PROFIBUS address can be assigned using the DIP switch or permanently assigned in the System
Manager. If the address is permanently defined, the address switch is ignored (
see DIP switch [
}
32] ).
GSD file
The GSD file is located in the TwinCAT folder \TwinCAT\IO\PROFIBUS. File name C8310CD7.gsd, the
matching image is CX8031.dib. Insert these two files, image and GSD file, into your master configuration
software.
PROFIBUS DpState
You can display the status of the PROFIBUS communication via the DpState and ascertain whether the
slave is exchanging data (DpState=0) or whether there is an error or a problem.
