E) Connect the wiring going to the furnace, air conditioner, or heat pump:
Attach the wires in the cable coming from the furnace to the terminals on the
RIGHT
side of the control module labeled
"Furnace/AC"
. Be sure to match the wire color and
terminal designation as identified in Step 1.
CAUTION:
It is very important to connect the thermostat cable to the correct
connectors on the Control Module. Failure to do so may cause equipment
damage.
F) Confirm that the terminal screws are tight, the wires will not pull out of the terminals,
and that there are not any shorts between terminals.
The Control Module is mounted near the
furnace where the thermostat cable is routed.
This location should be within 6 feet of a
power outlet.
You will connect the module to your network
using standard Ethernet cable, or using the
power line Ethernet adapters.
Orient the Control Module so the Furnace/AC
connector is on the side that goes to the
furnace, mounting it “upside down” if needed.
The Control Module installed and wired to
your furnace, air conditioner, or heat pump.
Do not
plug in the Control Module power or
Internet yet. This will be done in step 4.
