Demands on the power supply

Requirements to the energy supply / supply system
Minor deviations from requirements in the power supply can lead to malfunctioning of the
device. If the power supply deviates too much from the requirements, the device can be
destroyed.
The devices may only be operated in industrial networks.
The destruction of the device can cause personal injury.

Requirements to the connecting cables

Take into account IEC/EN 60204-1, Chapter 13 when selecting the cable.

The protective ground cross-section of the cable must be compliant with IEC/
EN 60204-1, Section 5.2, Tab. 1.

A fixed connection for the protective ground conductor is mandatorily specified for op-
eration of the device.

Use copper cable approved for a minimum of 60 °C (drives < 3 x 100 A) or 75 °C
(drives
≥
3 x 100 A), if comply with UL 508C.

Protection of the device and the cable
Fuses must be installed to protect this device and the cables against overload and pos-
sible damage/destruction through the electrical power supply. For data on the required
fuses, see

Risk of fatal injury from electrical current!
If the requirements for the power supply are not complied, the device can be dam-
aged or destroyed, thereby greatly endangering individuals.
