6.7 PERMANENT EQUIPMENT DECOMMISSIONING
When the BMA INTER-ROW WEEDER is decommissioned permanently, when it is no
longer fit for use, it is advisable to wash it.
CAUTION!
WHEN HANDLING WASTE, WEAR APPROPRIATE PERSONAL
PROTECTION DEVICES. DISPOSAL OF WASTE DERIVING FROM MACHINE
DEMOLITION MUSTS BE PERFORMED IN AN ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIEN-
DLY MANNER, AVOIDING POLLUTING THE SOIL, AIR AND WATER. IN ANY
CASE, OBSERVE THE LOCAL APPLICABLE LEGISLATION IN FORCE.
Remember that by waste we mean any substance or object that falls into the catego-
ries specified in annex A to part IV of Italian Leg. Decree 152/2006 and subsequent
amendments and addenda, the holder of which has decided or is obliged to dispose
of. Waste deriving from the demolition of the machine are classifiable as special waste.
6.7.1 RECYCLABLE/RECOVERABLE MATERIALS
Classified as special non-hazardous waste, pursuant to the provisions of Italian Ministe-
rial Decree of 5 February 1998 and subsequent amendments and addenda are:

Ferrous materials, aluminium,
stainless steel, copper;
•
Plastic materials;
•
Printed circuit boards;
6.7.2 RECOMMENDATIONS FOR SUITABLE WASTE TREATMENT
Correct management of special waste envisages:
•
Storage in suitable places, avoiding mixing hazardous waste with non-hazardous
waste;
•
Making sure the transport and disposal/recovery of the same takes place by au-
thorised carriers and recipients;
•
Transport of own waste to authorised collection centres is only permitted if regi-
stered with the Environmental Managers Register.
6.7.3 WASTE ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT (WEEE)
With Italian Leg. Decree 49 of 14 March 2014 and subsequent amend-
ments and addenda, the Italian Government implemented the European
Parliament directive on the subject of waste electrical and electronic
equipment (WEEE) disposal (Directive 2012/19/EU). The decree sets the
limitation and the elimination of certain substances found in WEEE: lead,
mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, Poly-brominated biphenyls
and poly-brominated diphenylethers are banned. The machine is designed and built in
compliance with this directive. Follow the instructions set out below.

•
Electrical system.
