A COOL BICYCLE
We wish you a great deal of cycling
pleasure with this really cool bicycle
from our BOYS’ & GIRLS’ collection.
Batavus has done its absolute best to
make your bicycle strong, reliable and
safe, too. Treat it as a good friend and
it will repay you by growing with you
as a faithful pal. Of course, a pal like
this does appreciate a bit of care and
maintenance. And you can help out
here, too, in consultation with your
parents. If things get too technical for
you or for them, there is always your
Batavus dealer; he can take rapid ac-
tion to sort out any problems which
may arise.
But, because you are going to be
participating in real traffi c now, there
are regular warning signs in this service
booklet. These signs are for your own
safety, but also for the safety of others.
It is important to read the booklet care-
fully before you do anything else!
Furthermore, the practical tips and
clear drawings in it will help you to
acquire a little expertise. And with this
expertise you have quite a lot to help
you on your way to becoming an expe-
rienced cyclist.
• When you pick up your Batavus
bicycle, all the components described
in this booklet will have been properly
adjusted just how you want them. Any
components to be delivered separately
(basket, bag, pedals, classical bell) will
also have been fi tted by your Batavus
dealer.
• Some components must be adjusted
again after a time. It is best to have this
carried out by your Batavus dealer.
• This booklet is an important aid for
those who want, and are able, to make
these adjustments themselves. We ad-
vise, however, that you always consult
your Batavus dealer before doing so.
He is not only the supplier of your bicy-
cle, but also a specialist who can advise
you on such matters.
• This service booklet contains tips and
recommendations which will increase
your safety and improve the cycling
comfort of your bicycle. Batavus can,
however, not rule out the possibility of
damage, even if they are meticulously
followed. You can therefore not derive
any rights from this booklet (with the
exception of the guarantee provided
in it). Batavus is not liable for any
damages, unless mandatory statutory
provisions provide otherwise.
• If activities carried out on your
bicycle fall under the guarantee given
by Batavus, the materials concerned
will be reimbursed or made available
in accordance with the conditions of
the guarantee. The labour costs for as-
sembling the components are for your
own account, with the exception of the
costs of assembling frames and/or front
forks within the fi rst 3 years of the
purchase of a new bicycle.
