With several BeoCom 3 phones
connected to your ISDN
connection, you can make
maximum use of the phone’s
options, as it will manage your
calls.
You can switch between two
phone lines, assign extra numbers
(MSN) to different users in the
house or office, transfer calls
between different rooms and use
Call diversion.
Set each line to a different melody
and ringer delay so that the
phones ring with different
melodies at different intervals on
the connected phones. This can
be utilised effectively both in the
home or in small offices to provide
an overview of who a call is for.
In the home, good use can be
made of a system with several
BeoCom 3 phones if the two ISDN
lines are dedicated to parents and
children, and the phones are
placed and set up according to
these two lines.
Setup in the children’s room
(A)
> In the menu ‘Line settings’, set ‘Line 1’ to
the children’s own MSN phone number and
set ’Line 2’ to the parents. This means that
the two lines are dedicated for parents and
children.
> In the ’Ringer’ menu… set the children’s
number on ‘Line 1’ to one melody and ‘Line
2’ with the parents’ number to another. The
volume can of course also be set to different
levels.
> In the ’Ringer’ menu… set a delay on the
ringer signal, which will help to distinguish
between the calls to the two phone
numbers. In the children’s room, set ‘Line 2’
with a delay of up to 45 seconds. ‘Line 1’
must not be set, as it must ring without a
delay.
Setup in the living room
(B)
> In the menu ‘Line settings’, set ‘Line 1’ to
the parents’ phone number and ’Line 2’ to
the children’s number.
> In the ’Ringer’ menu… set different ringer
melodies for ‘Line 1’ and ‘Line 2’, possibly
with two completely different melodies than
the two that were used for the children’s
BeoCom 3. You could also set the volume
differently.
> In the ‘Ringer menu’, set ‘Line 2’ with a
delay of up to 45 seconds.
A call that is not answered by the children
on their line 1 will then ring on the parents’
line 2.
A call which is not answered by the parents
on their line 1 will then ring on the children’s
line 2.
See page 24 for more information on setting
the ringer signal. See page 25 for more
information on line settings.
