You can make a call by lifting the

handset, using the hands-free

function or the headset. For a

hands-free call or when calling

using the headset, you can make

a call without lifting the handset.

If you want to take a new call

during a call, the Call Waiting

service must be switched on, see

page 25.

During the call, you can quickly

adjust the volume level using the

wheel. If you do not wish the

person on the phone to overhear

a conversation you are having

with a person in the room, you

can switch off the microphone.

The ISDN service Advice of Charge

shows the cost of the call instead

of the call duration immediately

after the call has ended.

The ISDN service Voice Mail is a

telephone answering machine on

the network, which takes a

message when you are unable to

answer a call. BeoCom 3 shows a

message in the display when new

messages have been taken.

When a phone number is

engaged, you can register the call

as a Call back call. When the

number is free again, BeoCom 3

will give a signal and ask whether

you want to make the call again.

Make and answer calls

The phone is normally linked to calls on

line 1. If you wish to make a call from line

2, you therefore need to press Line 2.

The phone number (Multiple Subscriber

number) for the line that is being used

will be shown as the Caller ID to the

person you are calling.
