3.1 Construction
Connection cover: The connection cover
BAM PC-TL-020… includes a suitable connector for
connecting the BTL. Protection rating for the connection
cover is Ex e.
BTL: The BTL7-T…-ZA1K contains the entire processing
electronics. The connection is made through the
connection cover. Construction and function of the BTL
are described in the user's guide for the
(BTL7-T500-M_ _ _ _-B/Z-DEX_-K_ _/KA_ _/ZA1K,
BTL7-T500-M_ _ _ _-J-DEX_-K_ _/ZA1K).
Electrical connection: The electrical connection in the
terminal chamber is made using a suitable connector. This
is plugged in and threaded on by the user. On the
customer side a cable is brought out (see section 4.4 on
page 9).
Attachment:
The connection housing is attached using
three M5 screws. Screws and washer are included in the
scope of delivery.

Construction and function
BAM PC-TL-020… is intended only for use with
the BTL7-T…-ZA1K!
3.2 Function
Use of the connection cover BAM PC-TL-020 makes it
possible for the user to disconnect the cable from the BTL
for installation and/or service.
Use of the connection cover does not affect the
operation or function of the BTL.
The connection cover is offered in two versions:
– Radial cable out
– Axial cable out
The “increased safety” classification requires that ignition in
the terminal chamber is not possible. This is achieved as
follows:
– Use of a certified connector which is double secured:
plugged in and threaded on.
– Good mechanical security of the cable leads.
– Maintaining of the conductor distances.
