5. CLEANING, MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
Do not use high pressure washers or steam jet cleaners on the Babboe-E cargo bike since they can cause
water seepage, resulting in property damage or malfunctions of the drive unit, display unit, or battery pack.
Should water or moisture get inside one of these units, have an authorized dealer inspect your Babboe-E cargo bike.
5.1 Caring for the battery pack
1. Use a moist, tightly-wrung towel to wipe off dirty from the battery pack. Do not pour water directly on the battery
pack, such as with a hose.
2. Do not clean the contacts by polishing them with a file, wire, etc. Doing so will damage the contacts and could
result in a fault.
3. Do not short the contacts of the battery pack. Doing so could cause the battery pack to become hot or catch fire,
resulting in serious injury or damage.
4. Do not disassemble or modify the battery pack. Doing so will void the warranty and could cause the battery to be
damaged, short circuit, or catch fire, resulting in serious injury or damage.
5. Do not use the battery pack if there is damage on the case, cracked, or unusual odors coming from the battery.
Leaking battery fluid can cause serious injury.
6. Do not drop the battery pack or subject it to impact. Doing so could cause the battery pack to suffer internal
damage and become hot or catch fire, resulting in serious injury or damage.
7. Do not dispose of the battery pack in a fire or expose it to a heat source. Doing so could cause fire or explosion,
resulting in serious injury or damage.
8. Keep the battery pack in a dry and ventilated indoor place with following conditions: ambient temperature
between 0°C ~40°C and the humidity is less than 65% at 25°C indoor temperature. Special note: Do not store
battery packs in a high humidity (> 65%) & a high temperature (> 40°C) environment.
5.2 Maintenance for the drive unit
1. Do not disassemble or exert any strong force on all ibo e-drive devices. Only an authorized engineer is allowed to
disassemble Babboe-E cargo bike for checking or repairs.
2. Make sure the connection between each cable connector is tightened.
3. Any connector open to the air will require the removal of dust and rust from time to time, such as from long
parking times or outside storage.
4. Bring the Babboe-E cargo bike to the dealer when there is corrosion observed on the device connectors.
5. Any cleaning on the connector shall be done while there is no power. Before making any connection, please
make sure the connectors are dried to avoid any electrical damage from a high moisture condition.
6. Always dry the hands before touching any electrical device to avoid shocks.
7. Always avoid the contact of the battery, COP2, charger and controller with other metallic objects which might
cause short circuits of the contacts, which could result in component damage.
4.3 Safety instructions on battery, COP2 & charger
1. For safe and efficient charging, use the battery chargers indoors only.
2. DO place the battery, COP2, and charger on a flat place in accordance with the below conditions.
• Free of rain and moisture
• Out of direct sunlight
• Well ventilated and dry
• Not accessible to children or pets
• Ambient temperature between 3°C and 25°C
An Error 6 will occur if any one of the cell temperature is greater than 45°C or less than 0°C. In such cases,
the charging process will stop to protect the battery pack. Users must either wait till cell temperature reaches
+3°C or bring the battery pack to an indoor location with a temperature between 15°C and 25°C.
3. DO only use the GWA charger to charge the GWA battery packs. Using any other charger to charge the GWA
battery will void the warranty and could result in fire, explosion, or damage to the GWA batteries.
4. DO always charge the GWA battery with the GWA charger and its charging accessory, the COP2.
5. DO always follow the suggested charging procedure as indicated on the COP2 label to avoid any mistakes or accidents.
6. Charger and COP2 are for indoor use only, additionally, please avoid use in a high humidity environment.
7. DO NOT use with a power strip or extension cord, doing so with those or similar unprotected methods may
exceed their rated current and can result in fire.
8. DO NOT use with the cable while it is tied or rolled up, and do not store with the cable wrapped around the
charger main body. This could result in cable damage and cause fire or electric shock.
9. DO firmly insert the power plug and charging plugs into their respective sockets. Failure to insert the power
plug and charging plug firmly can result in fire caused by electric shock or overheating.
10. DO NOT use the battery charger near flammable material or gases. This could result in fire or explosion.
11. DO NOT cover the battery charger or place other objects on top of it while charging. This could result in
internal overheating, leading to fire.
12. DO NOT drop the battery charger or expose it to strong impacts, this could cause damage resulting in fire or
electric shock.
13. DO store the battery pack and battery charger in places out of reach of children.
14. DO NOT touch the battery pack or battery charger while its charging. As the battery pack and battery charger
could reach 40°C to 70°C while charging, touching it could result in burns.
15. DO NOT use the power cable if it is damaged, stop using that battery charger and have it inspected at an
authorized dealer.
16. DO NOT disassemble or modify the battery charger, this will void the warranty and could damage the charger,
resulting in fire or electric shock.
17. DO NOT apply excessive force to the charging plug or pull on the cord with the charging plug connected to the
COP2, otherwise the plug or connector may be damaged.
18. DO NOT touch the charger contacts with metallic objects, nor allow foreign material to cause a short circuit
across the contacts. This could result in electric shock, fire or damage to the battery charger.
19. DO periodically remove dust from the power plug. Dampness or other issues could reduce the effectiveness
of the insulation, resulting in fire or electric shock.
