2.3 Ibo e-drive operation
• Pre-operation check
GWA ibo system assists you within a standard cycling range based on factors such as your pedalling strength,
bicycle speed, and current gear.
Prior to your first ride, please proceed with the below pre-operation checks to make sure that you will have a safe
and pleasant ride.
1) Please fully charge the battery.
2) Insert the battery into the carrier in the right position and lock firmly.
3) Make sure each component is tightly connected.
4) Turn on the display and wait for the display to enter into the function panel.
5) Keep your feet off the pedals when turning on the display when using the Max-E system (torque sensor).
This is the right procedure to help the torque force calibration pre-ride. If extra force such as a placing a foot
on the pedal during the system turn-on, it may cause the display to show error 7. If that occurs, please turn off
and turn on again with the correct procedure.
6) Set mode to “0”, and press the walk assist button to check that normal walk assist function works.
7) Then try each mode from 1 to 8, check each mode receives the right discharging current bar in the display.
The e-drive system does not give support in the following situations.
• When the display unit’s power is turned off.
• When the biking speed is over 25 km/hour and 18 km/hour for the Max-E (see speed limit page 54)
• When you stop pedalling.
• When there is no residual battery capacity.
• When the auto-power-off function is activated. The power turns off automatically when the Babboe-E
cargo bike is not in operation for 10 minutes.
• When the assist mode is set on 0.
Be sure to perform the inspection before riding the Babboe-E cargo bike. If there is anything you do not
understand or find difficult, please consult your Babboe dealer. If there is a confirmation of a fault, please have
your Babboe-E cargo bike inspected at your Babboe dealer as soon as possible.
