Cooking under the cover
On grills with covers the space under the closed cover functions like an oven, and can be used to cook
joints and fowl etc. The temperature gets very hot under the closed cover. The burners must be put on
low, otherwise the food can be burned and/or the product damaged. Do not open the cover
unnecessarily, as this lets the heat out.
Damping high flames
IMPORTANT:
High flames are produced when grilling meat, when fat and juices drip down onto the hot plate. Smoke
adds flavour, but high flames can burn the food. To avoid high flames, cut off fat from meat and fowl
before grilling, use marinades sparingly, and avoid meat products with a high content of water and/or fat.
Always put the burners on low during the cooking. High flames can usually be extinguished by throwing
baking powder or salt directly on the plate. Always protect your hands when they are near hot parts on
the product. Protect yourself from the flames in a suitable manner.
If the fat in the drip tray starts burning, set all the knobs to the • position, close the gas valve on the gas
cylinder and wait until the fire has burned out. Do not take out the drip tray, and do not attempt to
extinguish with water.
Avoid overheating
After grilling
After you have finished grilling, turn all the burners to and allow them to burn for 5 minutes. This burns
off any scraps of food after the grilling and makes it easier to clean the grill. The cover must be open
while doing this.
Switching off
Turn all the knobs to • after use. Close the gas valve on the gas cylinder. Wait until the grill has cooled
before closing the cover.
MAINTENANCE
Care and maintenance
WARNING:
Turn off the gas supply and allow the product to cool before cleaning and/or maintenance, and before
putting the product away. Disconnect the gas cylinder and move it out of the way, so there is no risk of it
falling over when cleaning or maintaining the product.
Clean the grill every time it has been used, and if it has stood unused for some time. Allow the grill and all
its parts to cool before cleaning. Do not expose the product to rain or moisture.
Never pour water on the grill while the surfaces are still hot.
Always wear safety gloves when handling hot parts.
Cover the product if it is left standing outdoors for long periods, especially during the winter.
Accessories can be ordered from your dealer.
Enamelled surfaces
Clean enamelled surfaces with hot water and washing-up liquid. Remove scraps of food with a mild
detergent and a non-abrasive sponge. Rinse the grill rack and allow it to dry. We do not recommend
washing the product or any of its parts in a dishwasher.
Maintaining the burners
If the burners are working properly, carry out maintenance in accordance with the instructions below.
Normally you only need to burn off any scraps of food after grilling to keep the burners clean. The burners
should be removed and cleaned once a year, or if there are a lot of residual scraps. Check that there are
no blockages (debris, insects) in the burner ports or in the primary air inlet to the burners. Clear with pipe
cleaners. Use a wire brush to remove impurities. Make sure the burner pipes are aligned straight over the
valve outlet when replacing the burner. Clear the burner pipes, if necessary.
