System installation checklist
This installation checklist provides descriptions of the required procedures, in sequence, to use when you install
an assembled, loaded, and tested (ALT) Avaya Message Networking system.
The following table provides a checklist for system installation.

Complete preinstallation planning:
1.
Complete the Message
Networking Release
2.0 planning forms.
It is critical that you complete the provided planning forms
to successfully install a Message Networking system. This
task requires consultation with the customer and the
responsible LAN, switch, and remote system
administrators. The Message Networking planning forms
are included on the documentation CD-ROM under
Reference.
2.
Assemble and review
the required
documentation.
Web access required.
3.
Review
security
requirements
.
4.
Arrange for
administration of the
LAN for the Message
Networking server.
Some LANs can be administered in advance; others
require that new machine administration be performed at
the time of the installation. See the
Preinstallation
requirements
for the required
initial LAN administration
.
Note:
Avaya Inc. is not responsible for the installation,
administration, or test of communication between customer
PCs and the LAN.

Verify that the switch is
administered.
(Required for sites using analog.) See the switch
administrator at the customer site to verify that the switch
is administered for Message Networking. See the
