5.9. Mixer
This is a cool and very handy modulation mixer. It has 2 inputs that you assign to
modulation sources and set of operators to do various types of combining the 2 sources.
There is also a waveform visualiser so you can see the effect the operator has on the
modulation sources in a very intuitive way. It has 4 controls.
•
Mod Source 1:
On the left of this module is a dropdown menu which when you
click on it gives you the list of modulation sources.
•
Mod Source 2:
On the left of this module underneath Mod Source 1 is a dropdown
menu which when you click on it gives you the list of modulation sources.
•
Operator:
This is another dropdown menu just above the Amount control. When
you click on it you get the list of possible operators to use on the 2 inputs. These
are basic mathematical opperations and do as their name suggests.
•
Amount:
This controls the level of the modulator source into the operator.
5.10. MIDI Modulation sources
This panel shows you which midi modulation sources are being used and gives great instant
visual feedback. Lets take the Filter Res control as an example. Assign Res to (for instance)
the Mod Wheel. Now try clicking on the Res control and you will see a pink dot appear in the
Mod Wheel box. Now try clicking on the Mod Wheel box and you will notice the Res control
start to flash. The grey bar in the Mod Wheel box shows the amount of modulation too. This
functionality makes it very easy to trace modulation system flow in the SQ80 V.
