Tighten three hex nuts securing bearing plate to auger
housing.
10. Apply a thin layer of anti-seize compound to impeller
shaft end.
11. Reinstall attachment drive pulley onto impeller shaft
and secure with locking washer and hex bolt. Torque
to 7.9 N•m – 16.5 N•m (5.8 lb-ft – 12.2 lb-ft).
12. Reinstall housing to frame. See Reinstall Auger
Housing on page 11.
13. Reconnect spark plug wire.
AUGER GEARCASE REPLACEMENT
Remove Gearcase Assembly
IMPORTANT: Save all hardware for reinstallation.
1. Stop engine, remove key and wait for all moving parts
to stop and for hot parts to cool.
2. Disconnect spark plug wire from engine.
3. Remove augers. See Remove Auger on page 26.
See Figure 56.
4.
Remove two flat steel washers from auger shaft.
5. Remove two roll pins retaining impeller to impeller
shaft and remove impeller.
Use of penetrating oil or heat may be necessary to remove
impeller.
Install Gearcase Assembly
1. Install impeller onto impeller shaft.
2. Align holes in impeller with holes in impeller shaft and
reinstall roll pins.
3. Reinstall one flat steel washer onto each auger shaft
end.
4. Reinstall augers. See Install Auger on page 28.
5. Reconnect spark plug wire.
