MIXER OIL
Top up the mixer oil tank every 500 km (312
mi), 2000 km (1240 mi).
The vehicle is provided with a separate mixer
that makes it possible to mix petrol with oil
for the lubrication of the engine, p. 83
(LUBRICANT CHART).
The vehicle is equipped with a control
unit which supplies the right quantity of oil
for engine lubrication through an electronic
pump (see “LUBRICANT CHART” on page
83).
The reserve is indicated by the coming on of
the mixer oil reserve warning light positioned
on the dashboard, see p. 18 (INSTRUMENTS
AND INDICATORS).
CAUTION
The use of the vehicle without mixer oil
causes serious damages to the engine.
If you run out of oil in the mixer oil tank or
if the mixer oil pipe has been removed, it
is necessary to contact an
aprilia Official
Dealer, who will provide for bleeding the
system.
This operation is indispensable, since the
operation of the engine with air in the mixer
oil system may cause serious damages to
the engine itself.
To top up the mixer oil tank, proceed as
follows:

Lift the saddle, see p. 24 (UNLOCKING /
LOCKING THE SADDLE).

Remove the plug (1).
MIXER OIL TANK CAPACITY: 1.6
l
TANK RESERVE: 0.5
l
CAUTION
Do not put additives or other substances
into the oil.
If a funnel or other system is used for
topping up, make sure that it is perfectly
clean.

Top up the mixer oil tank.
◆
Refit the cap (1).
CAUTION
Make sure that the filler cap is well
tightened.
