20.7
Slide on the ¼” balsa gun front, GNF, over the brass tube
so that the cylindrical cut is facing toward the gearbox formers.
When satisfied with the fit glue in place.
20.8
Punch out the gun frame back, GFB, two gun frame
sides, GFS, and one gun frame front, GFF, from the ¼” balsa
sheet. Glue the gun frame sides on the INSIDE of the gun
frame front and back. This makes the cradle for the gun assem-
bly. Set aside until further assembly.
.
20.9
Slide the gun assembly into the frame assembly created
earlier. The gun barrel should be concentric with the frame and
the gun body should fit in the notch on the back of the frame.
When satisfied glue in place.
20.10
Punch out the 1/4” balsa gun mount back GMB. Posi-
tion over the gun body to align the lower edge to the lower sur-
face of the body and centered horizontally. When satisfied glue
in place.
20.11
Punch out the 1/8” ply gun recoil adapter, GRA, and
slide it over the brass barrel tube. Using the two lengths of 1/8”
wood dowels glue the assembly together so that the dowels are
between the recoil adapter and the gun front. For ease of finish-
ing you may want to paint and detail the gun and gun frame at
this time before final assembly.
20.12
Note: the gun is stowed in a nose up position when not
in use. For ease of finishing you may want to paint and detail
the gun at this time before final assembly. Slide the gun assem-
bly into the frame and glue in place. Slide the frame up into the
mount and glue at the desired angle.
