Temporarily install the tail rotor gearbox and cut away 

all necessary sheeting to fit the halves together without interfer-
ing with normal operation of the tail rotor and tail rotor pushrod.

 

17.20  

Place another screw in the top 1/4” balsa fin top.  Sand 

the leading and trailing edges to match the lower fin profile.   

17.21   

Install the transmission bay assembly onto the fuse-

lage. Sand the back edge of the transmission bay to the final 
rounded shape while blending it into the fuselage tail boom in-
terface.  Sand the lower fuselage corners to the finished shape. 

17.22  

Punch out the 1/4” tail rotor drive shaft covers DSC-1 

and DSC-2.  Glue the DSC-1 to the lower surface of the drive 
shaft cover top.

 

17.23  

Glue 1/4” triangle stock along the inside edge of the tail 

rotor cover.

 

17.24  

Sand to the final rounded shape.  Sand the back edge to 

match the vertical fin.  Cut the cover to match the angle of the 
transmission bay.  Cut the cover at the transmission bay parting 
line and glue into place.
