The development of a thermal imaging device is never the work of an individual. Thre years ago,
when I had the idea to create a thermal imager that could be used as a headlamp at the same
time, I was fortunate enough to rely on a team of developers with whom I had already success-
fully developed other very small thermal imaging devices in the past. However, I was not aware
of how stony and protracted the road to this new product would be.
In order to achieve the extremely short design of the TILO without sacrificing optical quality, we
had to develop our own specially folded ocular optics. This took significantly more time than
planned.
We had set ourselves high targets. The TILO should not only be the smallest thermal imagery in
the world but should also work as a head / helmet lamp. Thus, we created a new product group,
the thermal head lamp, which has never been before. The combination of all these requirements
was only possible using the most modern materials and components. In addition, the device
should not be significantly more expensive than the best thermal imaging devices from other
manufacturers and the production, at least for the European market, should take place in Germany.
Now it is done, the TILO finally goes into serial production. Thus anyone who shares our
enthusiasm for the thermal world can buy such a device.
I wish you much pleasure and success with your TILO. We will continue to develop the TILO
concept, but we also have many other ideas in the area of thermal optics. Be curious about our
next developments.
