Use of rechargeable batteries
The use of rechargeable batteries in a same size as CR123 batteries is possible, but the run time
is reduced depending on the battery quality by approx. 50%.
Brightness adjustment (display brightness)
Press button 1 to change the display brightness. Each press of the button decreases the bright-
ness until it reaches the darkest setting. With each additional pressure the brightness increases
again until the brightest stage is reached. Then the process starts from the beginning.
The last used setting is saved and automatically recalled the next time you turn it on.
NOTE:
Especially when using at night it is useful to adjust the display to a very dark level to reduce the
glare effect. If the TILO is then switched on the next day, the display will appear so dark that it
may be considered defective. Therefore, in the case of a seemingly black screen, the button 1
should always be pressed several times.
Zoom
Pressing button 2 briefly switches between the following zoom levels:
0,8x:
This zoom level provides the best overview and is particularly helpful when it comes to interior
orientation. Since it is a negative zoom, however, the estimation of distances is difficult.
1x:
In this setting, all objects appear on the display in the same size as in reality. This setting is particularly
useful in the outdoor area for a natural estimation of the distance to persons or animals.
2x; 4x and 8x:
The higher zoom levels are particularly well suited for observation and identification. Often in
urbanarea but also in the forest heat sources are found, whose origin can not be determined
without problems. Thus rotting tree stumps, heaps of ants or larger stones produce distinct
thermal signs which can be mistaken for humans or animals. By means of a strong zoom setting,
objects can be better classified by observing their movements. Stones for example tend to move
very hardly.

Manual calibration
To perform manual calibration, close the door for about 0.5s but do not engage.
Once the manual calibration has been carried out once, automatic no longer takes place. This does
not start until the device is switched on again.
Manual calibration results in better image quality and longer battery life.
