The following conventions are used through this guide:

3BM refers to the 3ware BIOS Manager

„

3DM refers to the 3ware Disk Manager, version 2.

In the sections that describe using 3DM, 

current controller

Unit

 refers to one or more disks configured through 3ware to be treated by
