2 × full binning, 4 × full binning, 8 × full binning
If
horizontal
and
vertical
binning
are
combined,
every
4
(16
or
64)
pixels
are
consolidated
into
a
single
pixel.
At
first
two
(4
or
8)
vertical
pixels
are
put
together
and
then
combined
horizontally.
This
increases
light
sensitivity
by
a
total
of
a
factor
of
4
(16
or
64)
and
at
the
same
time
signal-to-noise
separation
is
improved
by
about
6
(12
or
18)
dB.
Resolution
is
reduced,
depending
on
the
model.
By
default
and
without
further
remapping
use
Format_7 Mode_3
for
2
×
full
binning.

The
image
appears
horizontally
compressed
in
this
mode
and
does
no
longer
show
true
aspect
ratio.
If
horizontal binning
is
activated
the
image
may
appear
to
be
over-exposed
and
must
eventually
be
corrected.
