Features of the ControlLogix SIL 2 System

Communication

Several communication options are available for connecting with the 
ControlLogix SIL 2 system and for the exchange of data within the SIL 2 system.

Communication Ports

A built-in serial port is available on 1756-L6

x

 controllers for download or 

visualization purposes only. Do not use the serial port for any exchange of safety-
related data.

A built-in USB port is available for program upload and download on 1756-L7

x

 

controllers.

ControlNet Network

The ControlNet network can be used to:

•

provide communication between the controller and remote I/O chassis.

•

form the basis for communication in duplex (redundant) configurations.
