2 INSTALLATION MD-01/02
When supplying power to the MD-01/02 controller, two power cables are
required.
The first cable has a 4-pin connector, which should be plugged into the
Power 2 connector on the controller. This cable is used to supply power to
the Rotator Motors. The cable should be connected to a power supply that
can provide from 13.8 to 24 volts DC at a minimum of 20 Amps. Wire gauge
for the cable should be at least #14.
CAUTION. In the 4-pin connector, Pin 3 is not equipped and not used.
The second cable has a 3-pin connector, which should be plugged into the
Power 1 connector on the controller. This cable is used to supply power to
the controller electronics. The cable should be connected to a power supply
that can provide 13.8 to 15 volts DC at a minimum of 2 Amps. The power
supply should not exceed 15 volts, as it could damage the controller. Wire
gauge for the cable should be at least #18.
It is highly recommended that a third cable be made. This cable consists of
a single wire of the largest gauge that can fit in the connector. This wire
has a 6-pin connector, which should be plugged into the ground connector on
the controller and the station ground.
