4 Operation
MD-01/02 controller may be operated from the front panel keyboard or a
computer connected to one of the Communication ports.
The MD-01/02 controller has two modes (MODE).
NORMAL – normal mode.
MOTOR ANGLES – calibration mode.
To change the mode, push the [F] key.
4.0.1 Normal mode (NORMAL)
In this mode, the Controller may be operated with the [Right], [Left], [Up]
and [Down] buttons, or from a connected computer. The Controller supports
communications protocols such as SPID ROT1, SPID ROT2, SPID MD-01 and YAESU
that can be assigned to any communications port (COM 0, COM 1, USB D and
ETH) in the settings. YAESU protocol may not support the full capability of

lfaSpid rotators.
The [Right] and [Left] buttons are used to adjust the azimuth of the
antenna.
The right direction – the antenna turns in a clockwise direction; the value
of the angle in the display increases.
The left direction – the antenna turns in an anticlockwise direction; the
value of the angle in the display decreases.
The [Up] and [Down] buttons are used to adjust the elevation of the antenna.
The Up direction – the rotator turns right from a facing perspective; the
value of the angle in the display increases.
The Down direction – the rotator turns left from a facing perspective; the
value of the angle in the display decreases.
