Overview
Purpose
This chapter provides the instructions for:
Cabling the MCO Compact backhaul module before installing the Alcatel-Lucent
9764 Compact Metro Cell Outdoor.
Mounting the 9764 CMCO onto either a pole or wall with or without the optional tilt
mechanism in various configurations (pair-mount and other co-located
configurations).
Horizontal tilt guidelines
For two CMCOs having the same frequency band , a horizontal tilt greater than 40° is
needed to avoid radiation pattern overlap.
For two CMCOs different frequency bands, the degree of horizontal tilt must be
determined on a site-by-site basis.
Vertical tilt guidelines
If the CMCO is mechanically tilted in the vertical direction plane, the horizontal antenna
pattern tends to become both shorter and wider as the tilt increases, particularly for
antennas that having horizontal beam widths in excess of 60°. The degree of vertical tilt
must be determined on a site-by-site basis.
