1 Turn on the TV and select the video channel on the TV.
2 Insert a cassette with the erasure prevention tab intact.
The power will be turned on.
3 Press the TV/VCR button on the remote controller so that the VCR
indicator appears in the display.
4 Select the tape speed, SP or EP with the SP/EP or MODE button.
5 Select the TV or CATV mode using the TV/CATV button on the VCR.
6 Press the CHANNEL DOWN or UP button to select the program to
be recorded.
• To select the channel directly with the remote controller, press
buttons 1 to 0 for the desired channel number and press the CH
button. (Example: For channel 15, press buttons 1 and 5, then press
the CH button.)
7 Press the REC button or REC/INDEX ENTER buttons at the same
time.
8 To stop recording, press the button.
If you want to edit out some material during recording
1 Press the button.
2 To resume recording, press the REC or button.
Notes
• To prevent the tape damage, avoid leaving the VCR in the pause
mode for more than 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, the VCR will auto-
matically be switched to the stop mode.
• To prevent accidental erasure, the unit can only be switched from
playback to recording mode with the following procedure.
1 During playback, press the button.
2 Press the REC button or REC/INDEX ENTER buttons at the same
time.
The tape will be still in the recording pause mode.
3 Press the REC button or REC/INDEX ENTER buttons at the same
time to start recording.
Start recording following steps 1 to 7 of "Viewing and recording the
same program". Then select the TV mode with the VT/VCR button and
set the TV to the channel you want to watch.
To monitor the recording, select the VCR mode with the TV/VCR button
and set the TV to the video channel.
