FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I do not know the IP address assigned to my ANET1553 device:
Use the Network detection tool delivered with the NET1553 BSP. This will show
any ANET1553 devices reachable in your local Network and also their current IP
address. Please note, that on MS Windows platforms, the zero-config
implementation ‘Bonjour’ has to be installed, before the Network detection tool
can be used.
The ANET1553 is not visible in my network, even it does not show up in the
Network detection tool:
Verify that your ANET1553 device is properly connected to your network. Also
verify that the ANET1553 device is connected to the same network segment, as
your host device. No routers or gateways that need particular configuration
should be between them.
I forgot the password to log into the Web Configuration Tool:
Do power on the ANET1553 while pressing the Emergency Boot Button on the
back panel of your device. This will start the emergency system of the ANET1553
(indicated by red blinking LED). After power up, log into the Web Configurati on
Tool with your Web Browser. The emergency system accepts the default user
‘user’ and password ‘aim’. Go to the ‘Maintenance’ tab and press the ‘Reset To
Factory Defaults’ button. This will reset the user name and password of the
device.
The ANET1553 device does not finish the boot up process endlessly:
Do power on the ANET1553 while pressing the Emergency Boot Button on the
back panel of your device. This will start the emergency system of the ANET1553
(indicated by red blinking LED). After power up, log into the Web Configuration
Tool with your Web Browser. Go to the ‘Maintenance’ tab and press the ‘Reset
To Factory Defaults’ button. Then try to restart the device. If this does not work,
repeat the emergency system boot and try to update the device with the software
package of the latest Board Support Package.
The device is visible in the network, but my application can’t connect to it:
Verify that your application uses the correct IP address. If you’re using the board
alias name to connect to the device and your application is running on MS
Windows platforms, verify you installed the zero-
config implementation ‘Bonjour’.
If the device is still not accessible, log into the Web Configuration tool of the
device with a web browser. Go to the ‘Services’ tab and verify the ‘ANS1553’ is
running. If this is not the case, activate the service.
