DPS Board
• One DPS Board can reside inside a cardcage. A DPS board contains
4 power supply (DPS) channels. Each DPS channel delivers voltages
up to ±8 V. Each DPS channel has 2 DACs for voltage setting. To
switch both DACs (digital Vbump function), a trigger signal (via a
pogo pin connecting to this input to the DUT) can be used to trigger
the DPS board. If Vbump is not used, the first DAC is active.
• Each DPS channel is also supplied with 2 current DACs—one for
positive current limit (clamp) and one for negative current limit.
• Each DPS channel has an ADC for measuring voltage and current.
• Each DPS channel has a sample IDDQ feature.
• Power-up and hardware reset puts all four channels of a DPS board
in tristate mode.
• Multiple DPS channels can be used in Ganged Mode to provide high
output current supplies. In this case, one channel is chosen as the
Master DPS Channel. The rest can be chosen as slaves.
Channel Boards
• There is room for eight Channel Boards in each cardcage.
4-Channel Modules
Besides interfaces, Pin PMUs, and relays, each channel board holds
the electronics and relays for 16 tester channels—organized in four
4-Channel Modules.
Each 4-Channel Module provides four independent channels, each
including the pin electronics for one device pin. Because the
channel boards can be replaced separately, the exchange part gran-
ularity is 16 channels (You cannot replace individual channels. Only
complete channel boards can be replaced.).
I/O Pin Electronics
To generate drive and receive signalseach I/O channel is equipped with
a driver chip, a comparator chip (comparator and active load), and a
level generator. The vector memory contains the memory that controls
the vector data and the sequencer instructions and setup data. The test
processor controls the driver, receiver and active load, and receives the
actual test data for execution from the vector memory.
The pin driver provides the electrical input signals to the device under
test (DUT). To generate the signals to each pin requires a waveform
shape, which is determined by the vector data in the vector memory,
drive levels, such as vil and vih, and defined timing edge positions.
The comparator receives the output signals from the DUT output and
input/output pins. It compares those values with VOH and VOL levels
specified by the user and makes a go/no-go comparison. There are two
types of compare mode, edge compare and window compare. The edge
