For all pins in pinlist, the AC relays are then closed to allow a func-
tional test to be executed.
In order to test one pin the test function executes a functional test
consisting of four cycles.
• At all pins except the measured pin (see
), the following
happens: during the four cycles of the test the driver is set to 0V and
the tristate to off. This causes a constant 0V to be applied to the
DUT. On the receive side a compare to mask is executed (no
measurement).
• At the pin to be measured the following sequence occurs:
–
in the first three cycles the driver is set to 0V and the tristate to
on, while the programmable load forces the test current. On the
receive side a compare to mask is executed. This allows the input
voltage to settle in case there are any external capacitances.
–
In the fourth cycle the drive remains as for the previous 3 cycles.
The comparator measures the voltage. The high and low levels of
the comparator are set to the pass volt. max and the pass volt.
min respectively. A compare to intermediate state is executed,
therefore a pass result is returned if the measured voltage lies
between these two levels.
The functional test uses a continuity set to define the other setup
parameters required. It contains all the timing, waveform and vector
information necessary for the functional test to run. The continuity set
is loaded to hardware at power-on. This happens automatically.
The timing information in the continuity set comprises the period and
two edge delays. Edge 1 is used as a drive edge and is always set to 0ns.
Edge 2 is used as a receive edge and is set to (edge 1 + 490ns). The
period is always set to a multiple of the period resolution signal, and is
always set to the highest possible value that is still less than 1000ns.
Three waveforms are defined in the continuity set:
• The first waveform has edge 1 driving to logic 0 with tristate set to
off and the second edge set to compare to mask. This waveform is
always used by the pins that are not being measured.
• The second waveform enables tristate on for edge 1 and compare to
mask for edge 2. This is the waveform used by the measured pin in
the first to third cycle of the functional test.
