Service

Performance Tests

Isolation

NOTE

Isolation needs to only be measured on adjacent ports. Two 75 

Ω

 loads 

are required for this test.

1. Perform a full two-port calibration from 3 MHz to 1.3 GHz at the 

ends of two cables attached to the two test ports of the network 
analyzer. Make sure the calibration is active.

2. Connect a 75 

Ω

 load to both the Reflection and Transmission ports of 

the 87075C Option H08.

3. Connect the two cables that are attached to the network analyzer, to 

ports 1 and 2 of the 87075C Option H08. The exact order doesn’t 
matter.

4. Using the “CONTROL” program provided, select reflection Port 1 

and transmission Port 2, e.g. “1,2” (you could also use “2,1”). Set the 
8753D/E to measure the transmission. Verify > 60 dB of isolation.

5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the next two adjacent ports (2 and 3). 

Repeat again for ports 3 and 4, then 4 and 5, and so on, ending with 
ports 7 and 8.
