OPERATION
TRANSPORT AND WING CYLINDERS
Always be sure the tractor hydraulic oil reservoir is
filled to the proper level.
Warning: Stay clear of folding wings when being
raised or lowered, or when in an
elevated position.
Be certain the hydraulic system is fully charged with
oil before use. Air in the hydraulic system can result
in uncontrolled movement of the wings during raising
and lowering operation.
Cylinders have to be purged of air before initial
operation or when oil has been drained from the
cylinders or hoses. Disconnect the cylinders at the
rod end. Cycle the cylinders by fully extending and
retracting the rod several times. Reconnect the
cylinders.
The transport/tooth bar hydraulic cylinder is
equipped with a valve type depth control. Adjust the
stop on the cylinder rod for the desired spring tooth
depth.
WING FLEX ADJUSTMENT
The wings of the mulcher can be set to limit flexing
from horizontal to as much as 5 degrees below
horizontal.
Two limiting bolts are located near the hinge points
of each wing. Use the following procedure to adjust
the wing flex:
1. On a level surface, raise the machine and lock in
the transport position.
2. Unfold the wings.
3. Examine the position of the wings. (The rollers
should not touch the ground when the machine
is in the transport position.)
4. Lower the machine to the field working position.
This will relieve the pressure on the wing
adjusting bolts.
5. Adjust the bolts. (The adjusting bolts must be
set equally so the front and the rear bolts touch
the main frame at the same time.)
6. Raise the machine and lock in the transport
position.
7. Examine the position of the wings and repeat
the procedure, if required.
