OPERATION
AUTOMATIC TRANSPORT LOCK
The cylinder lock is controlled by the rod located in
the rear of the center frame section. It can be
located in two positions, work and transport.
When the control rod is pushed rearward, the
cylinder can be cycled without the transport ear
coming in contact with the lock link. When the rod is
pulled forward, during the next extension cycle of the
cylinder, the top pin in the lock link will drop into the
recess in the transport cylinder ear, preventing the
cylinder from retracting (or lowering the machine).
The control rod may be moved to the lock position
(forward) regardless of cylinder length or the position
(up or down) of the machine. When the control rod is
in the forward position, the cylinder lock will always
engage when the machine is raised the first time. To
lower the machine, the control rod should be pushed
rearward. Then extend the transport cylinder to
relieve pressure on the lock link. The machine can
now be lowered.
HITCH ADJUSTMENTS (LEVELING MAIN
FRAME)
With the mulcher in the transport position on a level
ground surface, place a jack and blocking under the
rollers on the heavy end of the machine. Also place
blocking under the rollers on the light end of the
machine.
Loosen the four 7/8" nuts on the u-bolts (A) which
attach the spring mount to the tongue. Remove
enough blocking from the high end of the machine
so it can be jacked into a level position. The spring
mount will now be in a new position on the tongue.
Tighten the four u-bolts to prevent the spring mount
from slipping. Move the spring mount rearward to
transfer weight to the rear of the machine. Move the
spring mount forward to transfer weight to the front
of the machine.
