SPDIF SETUP
In the SPDIF SETUP menu the following audio formats
can be selected: SPDIF OUTPUT, CD, DOLBY DIGITAL,
DTS, MPEG, LPCM, LPCM OUT.
Note: The SPDIF signal is a digital signal.
• SPDIF OUTPUT: Here you can defi ne in which format
the SPDIF signal should be reproduced. Possible
settings: SPDIF OFF, SPDIF RAW, SPDIF/PCM and
MANUAL. In the OFF setting the player does not
reproduce any digital signal.
• CD: In the MANUAL setting the following options are
available for audio CDs: SPDIF OFF, SPDIF RAW and
SPDIF/PCM.
• DOLBY DIGITAL: In the MANUAL setting the follo-
wing options are available for the Dolby signal: SPDIF
OFF, SPDIF RAW and SPDIF/PCM.
• DTS: In the MANUAL setting the following options
are available for the DTS signal: SPDIF OFF, SPDIF
RAW and SPDIF/PCM.
• MPEG: In the MANUAL setting the following options
are available for the MPEG signal: SPDIF OFF, SPDIF
RAW, SPDIF/PCM.
• PCM: In the menu SPDIF SETUP PAGE select the
submenu PCM and then one of the options (SPDIF
LEFT/RIGHT, SPDIF LS/RS, SPDIF C/LFE).
Explanation: SPDIF L/R = stereo or two-channel
output; SPDIF LS/RS = surround sound (including
subwoofer)
• LPCM OUT: Here you can defi ne whether the signal
should be reproduced with a sampling rate of 48 kHz
or 96 kHz.
Note: The PCM signal is a two-channel signal. Insofar as
the digital audio decoder supports SPDIF signals, you
should select the RAW option for SPDIF. If the decoder
only supports PCM signals, you should select the PCM
setting SPDIF L/R, and for the DOWNMIX option the
STEREO setting.
DOLBY DIGITAL SETUP
(Settings for the Dolby Signal)
Press the SELECT button to call up the menu DOLBY DI-
GITAL SETUP PAGE. This menu contains the submenus
LEFT+RIGHT and DYNAMIC AREA CONDENSATION.
LEFT+RIGHT: Here you can select between the settings
LEFT CHANNEL, RIGHT CHANNEL and MIX CHANNEL.
Explanation: STEREO = stereo output, LEFT = output
in the left channel, RIGHT = output in the right channel,
MIX CHANNEL = equal (mixed) output from the left and
right channels.
DYNAMIC RANGE COMPRESSION
The submenu DYNAMIC RANGE COMPRESSION is
called up via the menu DOLBY DIGITAL SETUP PAGE.
Use the right arrow to select the desired option and then
adjust the option using the vertical arrow keys. The hig-
her the setting, the lower the volume difference between
loud and quiet passages.
CHANNEL DELAY (Signal Delay)
Here you can adjust the signal propagation delay in order
to produce perfect three-dimensional sound.
EQUALIZER SETUP
In the menu AUDIO SETUP PAGE select the submenu
EQUALIZER SETUP and confi rm your selection with the
SELECT button.
• EQUALIZER TYPE: Here you can choose between
different sound characteristics. The following settings
are available: NONE, ROCK, POP, LIVE, DANCE,
TECHNO, CLASSIC and SOFT.
• BASS BOOST: Here you can defi ne whether the bass
sounds should be amplifi ed more.
• SUPER BASS: Here you can defi ne whether the bass
sounds should be amplifi ed even more than in the
BASS BOOST setting.
• TREBLE BOOST: Here you can defi ne whether the
high notes should be particularly amplifi ed.
3D PROCESSING (Three-Dimensional Sound)
In the menu AUDIO SETUP PAGE select the submenu
3D PROCESSING and confi rm the selection with the
SELECT button. In this menu the options PRO LOGIC
and MIX MODE are available for selection.
• PRO LOGIC: Here you can defi ne whether the PRO
LOGIC function should be switched on or off or
activated automatically.
• MODE: Here you can select between the submenus
MUSIC, PIX and PRO LOGIC.
• PANORAMA MODE: Here you can defi ne whether the
panorama mode (three-dimensional sound) should
be activated.
• DIMENSION: Here you can adjust the sound charac-
teristics to the distances between the loudspeakers.
• Press the right-hand button to reach the “CENTRE
WIDTH” settings. Select one of the eight possible
settings between “WIDTH ZERO” and “WIDTH SE-
VEN”.
HALL MODE
In the menu HALL MODE you can adapt the sound
characteristics to the acoustics of the room.
HDCD
In the menu AUDIO SETUP PAGE select the HDCD
submenu and confi rm your selection with the SELECT
button. There are three possible settings: OFF, 44.1k,
88.2k.
VIDEO SETUP
In this menu the submenus COMPONENT VIDEO, TV
MODE and QUALITY SETUP are available.
1. COMPONENT: In the menu VIDEO SETUP PAGE
select the option COMPONENT and confi rm your
selection with the SELECT button. The settings OFF,
YUV and RGB are available for selection.
2. QUALITY MENU: In the VIDEO SETUP PAGE menu
select the submenu QUALITY MENU and confi rm
your selection with the SELECT button. The settings
SHARPNESS DEGREE, CONTRAST, GAMMA AD-
JUST, TONE, SATURATION and LUM DELAY SETUP
are available for selection.
