Playing back WMA and MP3 Files
Input
During playback of WMA and MP3 fi les there is no book-
mark function or summation check. Select the track with
the number buttons.
Displaying JPEG Picture Files
For JPEG fi les the following buttons are available:
PROGRAM: Here you can determine what type of tran-
sition you would like between the pictures
(slideshow).
STOP:
Shows 12 miniature pictures.
SKIP+:
Shows the next picture.
SKIP-:
Shows the previous picture.
PAUSE:
The slideshow is stopped. It can be conti-
nued with the PLAY button.
ZOOM:
Starts the zoom mode. With the F.FWD
button you can enlarge the current picture,
while the F.RWD button reduces it.
Left arrow:
Rotates the current picture through 90° in
an anticlockwise direction.
Right arrow: Rotates the current picture through 90° in
a clockwise direction.
Up arrow:
Moves the current picture up and down.
Down arrow: Moves the current picture to the left and
right.
SETTINGS
Settings
Press the SETUP button to call up the SETUP MENU. In
this menu the following menus are available: GENERAL
SETUP, AUDIO SETUP, VIDEO SETUP, PREFERENCE
PAGE, PASSWORD, SETUP PAGE.
Note: The option PREFERENCE SETUP is not available
if you called up the SETUP MENU during playback.
GENERAL SETUP
1. Choose SETUP MENU > MAIN PAGE and press the
PLAY button in order to call up the GENERAL SETUP
menu.
2. This menu includes the following functions (among
others): TV DISPLAY, ANGLE MARK, OSD LANGU-
AGE, CAPTIONS , SCREEN PROTECTING, LAST
MEMORY
TV SYSTEM (Height-Width Ratio)
Select the option SCREEN TYPE using the up or down
arrow. Set the desired height-width ratio (NORMAL/
PANORAMA, NORMAL/LETTER BOX, WIDE SCREEN)
and confi rm your selection with the PLAY button. With
the left arrow you can then close the menu.
Note:
NORMAL/PANORAMA: When a 16:9 format fi lm is shown
on a 4:3 television set, the edges
of the picture are cut off.
NORMAL/LETTER BOX: 16:9 fi lms are shown on 4:3
television sets without cut-off
edges, but black bars appear
at the top and bottom.
WIDE SCREEN:
Select this setting if you have
a television with a 16:9 large-
picture tube.
ANGLE MARK (Camera Perspective)
For the menu ANGLEMARK, the settings ON and OFF
are available. If you select the ON setting and play back
a multi-angle DVD, a corresponding symbol appears
on the screen as soon as a scene can be shown from
several perspectives. In the OFF setting no such symbol
is displayed.
OSD LANGUAGE (Menu Language)
In the OSD LANGUAGE menu you can determine in
which language the screen menu of the player is to be
displayed.
CAPTIONS (Subtitles)
In the CAPTION menu you can determine whether subtit-
les should be shown (ON) or not (OFF). Please note that
the television must be able to show subtitles and that not
all DVDs contain subtitles.
SCREEN PROTECTING (Screen Saver)
In the menu SCREEN PROTECTING you can determine
whether the screensaver should be activated. In the ON
position the screensaver is activated as soon as the
display has not changed for a certain period. In the OFF
position the screensaver is not active.
LAST MEMORY (Status Storage)
If the ON setting is selected in the LAST MEMORY
menu, the player remembers the current status (e.g. the
place at which DVD playback was interrupted).
SPEAKER SETUP
Select the menu SPEAKER SETUP with the arrow keys
and confi rm the selection with the SELECT button. The
following options are available:
1. DOWNMIX: Possible settings: LT/RT, STEREO, OFF.
OFF = Dolby Digital or 5.1 sound. STEREO = stereo
playback. Confi rm the selection with the SELECT
button and press the left arrow to close the menu.
NOTE: If your amplifi er has a two-channel input, you
can select the LT/RT setting.
2. FRONT SPEAKER: Here you can defi ne whether
the front loudspeakers are large (LARGE) or satellite
speakers (SMALL).
3. CENTRE SPEAKER: If you have selected the OFF
setting in the DOWNMIX menu, you can defi ne here
whether the central loudspeaker is large (LARGE) or a
satellite speaker (SMALL).
4. REAR SPEAKER: If you have selected the OFF
setting in the DOWNMIX menu, you can defi ne here
whether the rear loudspeakers are large (LARGE) or
satellite speakers (SMALL).
5. SUBWOOFER: Here you can defi ne whether a sub-
woofer is being used (ON) or not (OFF).
6. TEST TONE: Please remove any disk that may be in
the device. Then call up the DOWNMIX menu. In the
TEST TONE submenu you will fi nd the options ON
and OFF. If you select the ON option, the player will
emit a test sound from the front loudspeakers, the
central loudspeaker, the rear loudspeakers and the
subwoofer.
7. DIALOG VOLUME: In the DOWNMIX menu select
the submenu LT/RT or STEREO. Call up the DIALOG
VOLUME option in order to adjust the volume.
