The PPC-102's DiskOnChip
®
2000 provides a Flash disk in a standard
32-pin DIP package. This unique data storage solution offers a better,
faster and economical Flash disk for single board embedded systems,
Internet devices and portable applications with limited space and modest
disk capacity requirements. DiskOnChip 2000 incorporates a Flash
component technology called NAND. These high density, low cost
components enable faster read/write speeds, higher capacity and better
prices than previous generations of Flash components.
DiskOnChip 2000 provides a Flash disk (BIOS expansion only) which
does not require any bus, slot or connector. Simply insert the DiskOnChip
2000 into a 32-pin socket on the PCM-5865. With minimal installation
costs, you have a bootable small, fully-functional, easy to integrate Plug
and Play Flash disk with very low power consumption
Note:
Verify the direction is correct (pin 1 of the DiskOnChip
2000 is aligned with pin 1 of the socket). For other notes
and installation guidelines, refer to the DiskOnChip 2000
Installation Guide.
Warning:
The DiskOnChip 2000's socket cannot be used to install
solid state disks made by SanDisk Corporation, be-
cause the PPC-102's BIOS cannot support them. If you
want to install SanDisk's SSD, you must use the IDE
port.
