The communications protocol for the serial interface is RS-485. To use the standard IBM
compatible personal computer (running DOS 3.1 or higher) with an RS-232 serial port, you must
use the RS-485/RS-232 adapter, to be provided as an option. In fact the software can be used to
control up to 16 different SSPAs from a single computer.
The following table provides wiring instructions for proper operation of the user interface.
