Mechanical mounting
13.1.
Warning about injuries and Property damage
WARNING
Risk of personal injury and Property damage due to improper installation and
commissioning.
Only authorized skilled personnel are permitted to install and commission the DLT-V83.
Moreover, specialized knowledge about battery packs and the applicable safety regulations is
also required for DLT-V83 Industrial Computers with integrated UPS (optional).
If the DLT-V83 is incorrectly installed and placed into operation, any warranty for this device
will be rendered void.
Risk of injury due to the weight of the device
The DLT-V83 can fall down and cause injuries due to its weight.
Always hold the device by the housing with both hands.
Never use the antenna cap as a handle. It can break due to the weight involved.
Use the assistance of a second person for installation work.
The installation height of the device shall not exceed 2 m.
Risk of injury due to sharp-edged parts on the device
The strain relief rail of the DLT-V83 can have sharp edges and cause cutting injuries.
Do not hold the device by the strain relief rail.
Risk of injury and damage due to improper deployment location.
Observe the intended use of the DLT-V83, e.g. not in potentially explosive areas, not in
life-supporting facilities.
Observe that the deployment location of the DLT-V83 must comply with the permissible
environmental conditions.
The installation height of the device shall not exceed 2 m.
Danger if mounting bracket breaks
When installing the DLT-V83, make sure that no one will be injured if the bracket breaks
(e.g. because of a stress fracture).
Alternatively please put appropriate safety measures in place (e.g. install a security cable
in addition to the mounting bracket).
Radio wave emission in the vicinity of persons.
To ensure that the limits set for exposure to radio waves are not exceeded:
Install the DLT-V83 so that persons maintain a minimum distance of 20 to 50 cm to the
antenna.
