Multi-section damper installations
A multi-section damper may be supplied as one piece or in
separate sections for site assembly dependant on the size
(see product details). Steel joining strips are utilised to seal
the sections.
Advanced Air have carried out a test of a multi-section
damper in the worst case so that it can be used for both
Blockwork wall and drywall AFS installations. Each section
shall have its own actuator and the installation shall then be
carried out as per the appropriate installation instructions on
the following pages.
Damper Maintenance
•
These dampers are installed as a life-safe product and will
require regular physical and visual examinations. It is
essential that the assembly is kept in a clean, dust free
condition at all times
•
It is essential that an access door has been provided in the
adjacent ductwork to facilitate the inspection and maintenance.
•
Ensure no physical restriction of the blades has occurred during the installation process.
•
Remove any dirt or debris built up in the damper, apply a little WD40 lubricant or light oil, any excess oils should be
wiped away.
•
Check the operation of all ancillary products that may be fitted.
•
Open/close the blades to the airflow and physically examine the individual blades to ensure correct operation and
clean condition and that they are all positioned in the frame correctly, i.e. square to the frame.
•
Where fitted, energise and de-energise the motors where appropriate to ascertain correction operation.
•
The period between maintenance checks can best be ascertained by system conditions or as directed by local
regulations for ventilation place and ancillaries, but should not excess a maximum interval in excess of twelve months.
Installation Safety Information
The installation of damper must be done by competent trained persons who are familiar with the type of product
•
Wear Appropriate PPE gloves, footwear, safety hat etc. comply with the safety polices of the particular site.
