CONFIGURATION/MANAGEMENT

The ISU 512e can be managed using Telnet, Simple Network Manage-
ment Protocol (SNMP), or the maintenance port. SNMP support is 
limited to MIB definitions. See Appendix E SNMP on page E-1 for a 
description of the MIBs supported by the ISU 512e. Each of the three 
methods can be protected using authentication. Figure 6-8 shows the 
Management Menu.

Management/Telnet

Any Telnet client application can bring up a session to the ISU 512e’s 
Telnet server using the standard Telnet TCP port. Only one session is 
supported at a time. All sessions require a user name and password.

For security reasons, only the maintenance port 
asynchronous mode parameters are available from the front 
panel.
