Testing Chuck Flatness
After placing the cutting chuck on the theta table, perform the chuck
flatness test to verify that the chuck meets the following flatness tolerance
specifications:

To test chuck flatness:
1.
Mount the Long Probe Extension Holder and the Measuring Probe
onto a spindle so that the Measuring Probe touches the cutting chuck
surface.
2.
Verify that the theta table is in the Angle 0 position.
3.
In the application, from the Main Menu, press
Dice > Axis Control
;
the Dice window appears in the Axis Control view.
4.
Use the X/Y Axis controls to move the measuring probe to position 1,
as shown in Figure 14. Chuck Flatness Position Diagram.

5.
Set the measuring probe to zero.
Note:
From this point, do not touch the measuring probe or the measuring
probe Zeroing button, and do not change the position of the Z Axis.
6.
Use the X/Y Axis controls to move the spindles with the attached
measuring probe along the path outlined in Figure 14. Chuck
Flatness Position Diagram to positions 2, 3, 4, and 5, while observing
the changes on the measuring probe scale.
Note:
Do not let the measuring probe fall off the end of the cutting chuck.
Use the outer ring of the cutting chuck as the outer limit to which the
measuring probe can reach.
