Receiving the System
The entire system is shipped in a single packing crate. Each system is
shipped separately, even when more than one unit has been ordered.
Before proceeding with the installation procedure, examine the shipping
documents and packing crate label against your purchase order. In case of
discrepancy, contact your local ADT Customer Support representative.
4.2
Initial Inspection
Upon receipt, inspect the exterior of the packing crate for any damage
which might have occurred during transportation or delivery.
There are three indicators (of two different kinds) located on the exterior
of the packing crate:
TipWatch - indicator turns red if the crate has been tilted to more
than the predetermined permissible angle.
ShockWatch - indicator turns red if the crate has been subject to
an impact or vibration beyond the predetermined permissible
threshold.
Figure 1. Indicators
Inspect the color of the three indicators. If any have turned from clear to
red,
do not
proceed with the installation. Leave the packing crate and the
indicators as they are. Immediately contact the local ADT Customer
Support representative.
Note:
Failure to contact the ADT Customer Support representative
immediately, in these cases, may result in cancellation of the equipment
warranty.
If all indicators are clear, proceed to unpack the system.
In addition, inspect the shock and tilt indicators located on the front and
rear of the casing. See Step
1 in "Releasing All Moveable Parts and
Unsealing the System" on page 15.
