Connecting the Digital Video Camcorder
Once you have installed the PYRO ProDV card and the Media Studio
Pro Software you are ready to begin capturing video to your computers
hard drive. Follow these steps to ensure that both the operating system
and Media Studio Pro recognize your camcorder.
1. Use the External Power source supplied with your camcorder.
Many camcorders do not have enough power when running
from the battery.
2. Turn the Camcorder ON to the VCR/VTR mode.
3. Connect the 6 ft. DV Cable supplied with the PYRO ProDV
card to any available port on the PYRO card and your digital
camcorder.
4. Your Camcorder will be recognized, as a new device by Windows
and you will be asked to insert the Windows 98 SE or Windows
2000 CD. The driver named MSDV.sys will be installed.
5. Open Device Manager (Control Panel, System, Device Manager
Tab). Be certain that the camcorder appears in Device Manager
under “Imaging Device” and is listed as a “DV camera or
VCR”.
