for conducting real-time meetings on your desktop. Attendees join the meeting by logging in to a
web-based meeting space from their own computers. In a ConnectNow online meeting, you can
share your desktop, use live chat, share online whiteboards, and many other collaboration fea-
tures. Because you have Acrobat 9 Pro, you are able to initiate a ConnectNow session and invite
two other participants to an online session.
To start a meeting:
1. Choose File > Collaborate > Share My Screen. Adobe ConnectNow is launched; if you do not
have the necessary Flash plug-in, you will be prompted to permit its installation.
2. If prompted, enter your Adobe ID and password, or create an ID if you don’t have one.
3. Once you are in your meeting room, you can invite participants. The URL of the meeting
room is displayed for you, and you are provided a link to send e-mail invitations to partici-
pants. When other attendees have joined your meeting room, you can share your computer
screen, chat with attendees onscreen, take notes, and use other meeting features. ConnectNow
also includes a whiteboard feature, allowing you to mark on the screen to call attention to
important details. All participants can enter text in the Shared Notes pod on screen, and each
participant can save the contents of the Shared Notes pod to a text file on their computer for
future reference. For more information, choose Help > Adobe ConnectNow Help while in the
meeting room.
To attend a meeting:
1. Participants can click the meeting URL in the e-mail invitation, or type the Meeting URL in
the address box of a browser.
2. Participants enter their Adobe ID and password, or log in as a guest if they do not have an
Adobe ID.
Once you are in the meeting room, you can chat with attendees, take notes, and use many other
meeting features. In addition, you can pass control to another participant so they have the
permissions of a presenter. This can be useful when you want to show a customer how to fix a file,
giving you the ability to guide them through necessary steps.
