Chapter 2: Making the Switch from
PageMaker to InDesign
The Adobe InDesign work area is arranged
to help you focus on designing and
producing pages efficiently. Many of the
tools and concepts in InDesign will be familiar to
PageMaker users. This chapter will help you
understand the differences and similarities
between the two programs, so you can start using
InDesign right away.
Looking at the work area
The InDesign work area is similar to the work area
in Adobe PageMaker. The first time you start
InDesign, a Welcome screen appears, along with a
toolbox, Control palette, toolbar, and several other
palettes.
