4.2 LAN Drivers Installation
This chapter describes the LAN driver installation for the onboard
Ethernet controller
Intel 82546EB
. All associated drivers are
located under the following ADLINK CD directory:
X:\CHIPDRV\LAN\82546EB
, where
X:
is the location of the CD-
ROM drive.
Software and Drivers Support
The 82546EB drivers support the following OS or platforms:

Windows 2000, Windows XP
All of the above drivers are included on the ADLINK CD. In the
following section, we will describe the driver installation for
Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
Driver Installation on Windows 2000/XP
Windows 2000 will attempt to install a standard LAN driver
automatically. To guarantee compatibility, manually install the
most updated LAN driver, which is stored on the ADLINK CD.
After installing Windows 2000, follow the instructions below to
update to the most recently updated driver.
1. Run
pro2kxpm.exe
in
x:\chipdrv\LAN\82546EB\win2kxp
to extract the files
needed for the installation. Files will be extracted to
c:\IntelPRO
.
2. Click
Install Now
to install driver.
3. Click
Finish
.
