1.2 Installation Overview
The system installation process is summarized in the following table. Refer also to the
system cable diagram in
Figure 5-1 on page 51 .

1. Mount the robot on a flat, secure mounting surface. See Section 3.5 on page 31 .
2. Install the SmartController, Front Panel, optional T1
pendant (if present), and AdeptWindows software.

3. Install the IEEE 1394 and XSYS cables between
the MB-40R and SmartController.

4. Install the Arm Power/Signal cable between the
