Wiring the 7845CZ
Observe the wire length/gauge limitations for all input zone, radio fault, and power
connections as listed in Table 4.

Wiring Zones 1, 2 and 3
Zones 1, 2 and 3 share a common input on TB2-1. These Zones are designed to report Zone 1
fire(pulsed), Zone 2 burg(steady) and Zone 3 Lynx panic (single pulse), from the panels bell
output. The input type is selectable as +V, -V, or EOLR during programming.
Connect a wire from the triggering source (bell output, voltage trigger, LRR/AAV trigger of
the Lynx, etc.) of the control panel to the zone input of the radio. A single common ground
between the radio and control panel is also required. The alarm and power wires must be
routed through either the wire access port or one of the knockouts. The wire access port is
located on the back cover below the PC board. The knockouts are located on either side of
the back cover.
To trip Zone 1, 2 or 3 on the 7845CZ in V+ trigger mode, the positive triggering voltage from
the control panel must be within 4.5V-14.2V. Trigger levels above this range may cause
permanent damage to the unit. Trigger levels below this range result in unreliable operation.
To trip Zone 1, 2 or 3 on the 7845CZ in V- trigger mode, the negative triggering voltage must
be less than 1.5V.
Examples of connecting Zones 1, 2 and 3 are shown below:
To install a 7845CZ with a LYNX Security System, wire the devices as shown in Figure 4
and program the 7845CZ Trigger Type for “EOLR” (Question 13). If you are wiring without
the resistor, program the Trigger Type for “V-”. A wall-mounted 12.5V DC power supply and
a battery must be used. Program the LYNX data field *91 as 0 = long range radio trigger.
Refer to LYNX Installation and Setup Guide.

If the Lynx Panic programming option is enabled, the 7845CZ will report a Zone 3 alarm whenever it
detects this single pulse on TB-1. No restores are reported for this zone. When using Lynx Panic,
“hard wired Zone 3” on P2-1, will be disabled. Do not connect P2-1 when using Lynx Panic.
