You must have administrative rights on the computer you plan to use.
Once you have completed the prerequisites above, you can begin to gather data:
Step 1: Gathering Data
1) Log into the computer that is attached to the same router as the DVR, we will be using this
computer to gather information.
1) From the start menu, click “Run”.
2) If you do not see run, you will need to enable the run prompt. Right click on the start bar, click
“Properties”. Click the “Start Menu” Tab, and click “Customize”. Navigate to “Advanced” and scroll
down until you see “Run Command”. Make sure the box is checked, and then click “OK” on each
dialog until you are back on your desktop.
3) Enter “cmd” into the run dialog, and then hit the “enter” key, a black window should appear on your
screen with a flashing cursor.
4) Type “ipconfig”
5) What you are looking for, is an “Ethernet Adapter” labeled “Local Area Connection”.
